Despoina Bompolaki is an Associate Professor with tenure at the Restorative Dentistry Department. She joined OHSU at 2015 and currently serves as Assistant Dean for Clinical Systems and Director of Clinical Restorative Dentistry. She received her DDS from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2009), and a Certificate in Prosthodontics and Master’s in Oral Biology from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry (2014).

Dr. Bompolaki is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. She serves at the Board of Directors of the American College of Prosthodontists, as the Continuing Professional Education Division Director, and also at the Board of Directors of the Academy of Osseointegration. She is a Fellow of the ADEA Leadership Institute (class of 2023). She is currently a member of multiple committees within professional organizations, and has previously served as Chair of the National Prosthodontic Resident Examination Committee of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP)

She is also a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) and a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO), and a member of the American Association for Dental and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR), the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the European Prosthodontic Association (EPA) and the Greek Prosthodontic Society. She maintains an active private practice focused in fixed, implant and removable prosthodontics.

Dr. Bompolaki is the Course Director for multiple courses, and serves as the Faculty Chair of the Curriculum Committee at the School of Dentistry since 2021. As a researcher, she focuses on dental implant outcomes and complication management. Her work has been internationally recognized and published in peer-reviewed journals.
